Enabling Photo Effects, Perspective and EXIF Tools

Those users upgrading from Designer Pro X, MAGIX Web Designer Premium or MAGIX Photo & Graphic Designer can enable the following tools and effects in Designer +. 

This is achieved by copying the required files from the MAGIX program folder to the Xara Designer+ program folder. You’ll normally find the program folders under C:\Program Files\MAGIX and C:\Program Files\Xara, unless you chose to install to another location on your device. 

 

Live Effects

Enable the full set of Live Effects in Designer+ by copying the following files and folders from the program folder of your MAGIX Designer installation, into your Designer+ program folder. 

PCFx (folder)
PCFx_eng.dll
vs_effectlib.dll

Then restart the application and you should see all the effects in the effects list in the Live Effects Tool  on the Photo toolbar.

 

Perspective Correction Tool

Enable this tool by copying the ShiftN folder from your MAGIX Designer installation, into your Designer+ program folder. Then restart the application. 

The tool icon will NOT appear in its usual place on the Photo Tool fly-out bar. Instead you need to open Window > Control bars … and turn on the Button Palette, which shows all buttons. Look for the  icon, hold down the Alt key and drag the icon onto your main toolbar on the left of the main window. 

 

EXIF Tool

To enable this tool, copy the file MxEXIF_rel_u_x64_vc16.dll from your MAGIX Designer installation, into your Designer+ program folder. Then restart the application. 

The EXIF tool icon will NOT appear in its usual place on the Photo Tool fly-out bar. Instead you need to drag the icon from the Button Palette, as described above for the Perspective Correction Tool.
