How do I apply text to a curve or outline of a shape?

1) Insert your shape* or draw your line / curve

2) Select the Text Tool and click on your page to create a text line**, and then add your text

3) With the Selector Tool (V), select both the text line and the shape, then right-click > Fit text to curve.

You can then use the normal text controls to adjust the alignment, and the baseline shift to move the text up and down from the curve.

 

* SmartShapes will need to be transformed into QuickShapes prior to being used as the guide for the text. To transform a SmartShape into a QuickShape, select it, right-click > ungroup.
